Microfinance company CreditAccess Grameen has signed a syndicated social loan facility of $75 million [~₹694 crore], as an external commercial borrowing under the automatic route of the Reserve Bank of India.
HSBC acted as the lead arranger and bookrunner for the social loan fund raise, with participation from HSBC (Gift City), Doha Bank (Qatar), State Bank (Mauritius), Bank of China, and National Development Bank. Sustainalytics provided a second-party opinion on this social loan.
CA Grameen has raised funds from global markets to diversify the sources from which it acquires loans. The company has secured over $300 million in commitment from global banks, development financial institutions and impact investors in financial year 2025-26.
About 15 per cent of the NBFC’s borrowing requirements are met through foreign sources.
On 7 March public sector State Bank of India had said that it had raised $500 million through a syndicated term loan facility, focussed on women empowerment. MUFG acted as lead arranger, underwriter, bookrunner and social loan coordinator for that transaction.![]()
