Vinay Muralidhar Tonse appointed as MD and CEO designate at Yes Bank

Vinay M. Tonse has been appointed as managing director and chief executive officer designate at Yes Bank. He was earlier managing director (retail business and operations) at State Bank of India (SBI) from November 2023 till November 2025.

Tonse has done his B.com from St. Joseph College of Commerce, Bangalore, and has Master’s in Commerce from Bangalore University. He started his career with SBI in 1988 as a probationary officer. He has worked in different geographical locations in India and abroad heading various business functions.

Tonse was earlier on deputation to SBI Mutual Funds as Managing Director & CEO (June 2020 to December 2022). He earlier headed the Chennai circle of SBI as chief general manager (June 2018 to June 2020).
