DEG and Citi announce €40 million and ₹260 crore co-financing for Shriram Finance

Deutsche Investitions-und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (DEG) – and Citi have said in a press release that they jointly provided a $76 million [~₹703 crore] co-financing package “aimed at accelerating economic inclusion, rural development, and climate-aligned mobility across India” through Shriram Finance, the Chennai-based non-banking financial services company.

The DEG loan is aimed at supporting lending towards micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), electric vehicle financing, women borrowers, and customers in under-served areas, while Citi’s financing will support smallholder farmers.

This marks the second financing initiative between Citi and DEG, following a successful transaction with CreditAccess Grameen in 2024.

As on 31 December 2025, Sriram Finance had a network of 3,225 branches and a workforce of 77,724 with combined Assets Under Management (AUM) worth ₹291,709 crore.icon
