Balaji Nuthalapadi appointed as interim CEO, Equitas Small Finance Bank

Balaji Nuthalapadi has been elevated to the position of interim CEO of Chennai-based Equitas Small Finance Bank. He was earlier its executive director and whole-time director.

The bank had on 29 October announced the resignation of P.N. Vasudevan, the earlier MD and CEO, who was leaving to pursue personal and social initiatives.

Nuthalapadi has completed his post-graduation from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad (1996). He started his career with Citi in 1997 in Chennai and has since worked in several assignments across markets in Asia-Pacific and Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

He took over as head of South Asia Operations & Technology (O&T), effective May 2021 and in his latest assignment was managing director and head (centralized controls testing execution), CITI.

Nuthalapadi was also a Member of the Tamilnadu State Fintech Governing Council.
